West Side Story arrasa en nominaciones al Oscar junto a The Power of the Dog, Dune, y unas otras por ahí para Tick, Tick…Boom!
¿Será que 2022 finalmente es el año para los musicales en el Oscar?
Tenemos que decirlo, es cierto que esperábamos que Tick, Tick…Boom! recibiera un poco más de amor por parte de la Academia, y ni siquiera consiguió una nominación a Mejor Película -pero respiren tranquilos que Andrew Garfield sí tiene la suya por interpretar al incomparable Jonathan Larson. Pero West Side Story de Steven Spielberg por otro lado, arrasó con siete candidaturas.
Y si se lleva el trofeo sería el primer musical en lograrlo desde Chicago. Así que crucen los dedos.
Otras varias favoritas también tienen nominaciones incluyendo a Encanto, que consiguió tres, The Mitchells vs The Machines que tan ignorada había estado por los Golden Globes, Kristen Stewart por Spencer, raro tomando en cuenta que los SAG la dejaron sin candidatura, y Nightmare Alley del mexicano Guillermo del Toro.
Las que se colocan como los gigantes a vencer, sin embargo, son The Power of the Dog y Dune. Ya veremos quién se lo lleva todo el próximo 27 de Marzo.
